Preflight
Using FlightCheck®
and Pitstop®, your files are examined during
various stages of the production cycle. Our policy
of a thorough preflight at the start of any job,
pinpoints potential problems and can eliminate
costly alterations. Printer PDFs are created using
your specified printers' requirements. A sample
data test is run to validate quality data well
before any given project is completed.
Prepress
Quality imaging and
film services are provided using your digital
files and output to single page film as well as
imposed output. A variety of proofing options
are available as well, including soft proofs and
4-color digital imposition proofs. Files are accepted
on all current disk media as well as our secure
FTP site.
Page Layout
Typesetting and composition
services are electronically provided by our experienced
desktop specialists following publisher supplied
guidelines. Working predominantly from the Macintosh
platform, and using a variety of the latest software
applications, including Quark, Illustrator, Photoshop,
and MS Word, we produce everything from trade
magazines to high school and college textbooks.
Proofreading
With their many years
of experience, our proofreading staff is equipped
to be efficient, organized and accurate. They
will query anything questionable and strive for
consistency and proper hyphenation as well as
follow all publisher guidelines.
Quality Control
A final inspection
of printer-ready PDF's are carefully reviewed
to ensure error-free output. Parkwood outputs
lasers directly from the printer PDFs. The lasers
are compared against final approved page proofs
to flag any text or graphic problems before it
reaches your specified printer.
Shipping Department
Our shipping department
uses electronic tracking systems for FedEx and
U.P.S. and pays special attention to all your
shipping needs. For the St. Paul/Minneapolis area,
we have a shuttle service for pickup and delivery
available at no cost to you.
